Governor Sisolak Announces New Appointment to PUCN
Governor Steve Sisolak announced the appointment of Tammy Cordova to the Public Utilities
Commission of Nevada (PUCN). She currently serves as the chief counsel for the PUC Regulatory Operations Staff.

USAC Files Federal USF Support Mechanisms Contribution Base for Third Quarter 2020
USAC filed the
Federal Universal Service Support Mechanisms
Quarterly Contribution Base for third quarter 2020 on June 1, 2020. The total projected collected interstate and
international end-user revenue base to be used in determining the contribution factor for the USF support mechanisms for

FCC Announces Third Quarter 2020 USF Contribution Factor
The Office of Managing Director released a
public notice on June 12, 2020, announcing
the proposed universal service contribution factor for the third quarter of 2020 will be 26.5%, up from the previous

MagicJack Agrees to $5M Settlement With FCC
The Federal Communications Commission has fined magicJack VocalTec $5 million under a
settlement related to the VoIP service provider's contributions to the FCC's Universal Service Fund in which the company
also signed onto "an extensive compliance plan."

FCC Will Vote July 16 on 988 Suicide Hotline Number
Federal regulators have set a July 16 vote to designate 988 as the alternative to dialing a
10-digit number to reach the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. The Federal Communications Commission's rule would give
carriers two years to implement the system.

Illegal Robocalls Drop As Blocking Tools Spread
Unwanted robocalls have declined by at least 30% during the past three months, Verizon said,
pointing to the success of safeguards such as an app for filtering calls. The Federal Communications Commission said most
consumers can now access tools to block illegal robocalls and that the agency will consider protecting carriers from
liability for erroneous screening.

FCC Proposes Fine for Illegal Robocalls
adopted a notice of apparent liability for
forfeiture at its June 9, 2020 Open Meeting, proposing a $225 million fine against Rising Eagle and JSquared Telecom for
apparently making one billion illegally spoofed robocalls. The NAL is not yet released. Statements were issued by Chairman
Pai and Commissioners
Starks. Pai also issued a
statement supporting a
lawsuit filed by state attorneys general against Rising Eagle and JSquared Telecom on the illegal robocalls. [Source:
